Help for ukrainian orphans

July 19, 2023 icare ministrys help orphans from ukraine

In April 2022, the director of one of the orphanages in Ukraine contacted our director (ICareMinistry) and asked for help for orphans. Since the orphanage has been in the territory occupied by Russian troops, there was a huge risk that the children would be taken to Russia and forced to forget their homeland, their language and their identity. The administration of the orphanage decided to distribute the children to foster families, promising them financial support from sponsors. This is how our foundation found sponsors from US residents for 26 Ukrainian orphans who are in dire need of financial support, given that each foster family already had 5-7 orphans before the war. Sponsors are still helping to support orphans in foster families, as prices in Ukraine have skyrocketed and many lack basic necessities such as food and soap.

Help for ukrainian refugees in USA

July 6, 2023 Young ukrainian children refugees

In April 2022, when the US government opened the border with Mexico, allowing Ukrainian refugees to come to the United States. Many Ukrainians, not knowing English, did not know where to go, how to go, or whom to contact. Volunteers from various organizations arrived at the San Ysidro border, trying to help refugees feeding them, providing clothing, and guiding them through the process of getting documents and assistance from the US government. Our foundation also decided to contribute to helping the refugees. Together with volunteer Grigory Yasninsky and the North Coast Church, we created the website “Hopestay.org” where refugees filled out a form to access services.

Parishioners of The North Coast Church and Church Light of the World in San Diego sheltered a lot of Ukrainian refugees. We also opened a hotline where volunteers communicated with refugees, identified needs, and directed them. Many US residents have opened their homes, helping refugees through the first days of adaptation in the US. We thank all the people of the United States for supporting Ukrainian refugees during such a difficult period. During the past year, our hotline helped more than 500 families find their homes in the United States, complete paperwork, and also provided psychological support to people who were forced to leave their homeland, who fled to save their young children and elderly parents, avoiding Russian aggression.

Online trainings for people located in Ukraine

July 4, 2023 it ukraine refugees

From autumn 2022, we conducted one project, online training for people located in Ukraine who live in remote parts of Ukraine. Volunteer IT Specialist Oles Skakalskyi conducted online trainings on Front end developer, back-end developer, Python, data analyst, product manager, and SMM management for 60 people. Our foundation with the help of the Church of Rancho Bernardo donated notebooks to the people in Ukraine. They could complete the trainings and all of them could find job opportunities in the IT industry. Most of them are pastors or members of their families in small villages and now can spread the knowledge to other people and help them get employed.

Thanks from the refugees from Ukraine.
